Crystal Classic Album Options

1) Coatings: We offer two types of coating for albums, Luster coating and Glossy coating. Both types of coating offer important additional protection. Coating makes the pages more resistant to fingerprints and moisture and also substantially reduces the chance that album pages might stick together in high humidity conditions. We recommend that all albums be coated for additional protection and durability.

2) Metallic Pages: Metallic paper is a different type of photographic paper that is also available for album pages. Metallic paper has a glossy surface and a higher contrast “metallic” appearance, which is especially noticeable in lighter colors and highlights. Metallic paper has a deeper black than standard E surface paper. Metallic paper can be ordered on a per page basis, so standard E surface and metallic pages can be mixed in a single album. There is an additional charge for each metallic page based on the size of the album. Use the options menu to set a page to Metallic.

Crystal Album Layout

Flush mount albums can be laid out in a variety of ways.  If you have an even number of sides, the album can open to two blank pages and then turning the page open to a double page spread with a photograph on the left and the right.  Alternatively, the album can begin with a blank page on the left and one photograph on the right. Turning the first page opens to a double page spread with a photograph on the left and on the right. The album ends with a single photograph on the left and a blank page on the right.  If you have an odd number of pages, the album can either begin or end with a single photograph and a blank page.

No Additional Album Software to Download and Learn

  • Our album page templates are installed right in the ROES software.
  • It’s as easy as drag-n-drop to build beautiful pages with multiple images.
  • We allow 2 page spreads with images that cross over both pages.
  • If you prefer to build your pages in Adobe Photoshop or other album building software, just drag your final pages into our blank page template.

Classic Album Options

1) Foil Imprinting on the cover provides a way to put a title or other information on the cover of a leather album. Traditional titles for wedding albums are “Our Wedding” or “Our Love Story” followed by the couple’s names and their wedding date. Foil imprinting is available in Silver or Gold. We offer up to three lines of imprinting in the center of the book and up to three lines in the lower right corner. Each line of imprinting cost $6.00. This is imprinting, not embossing. The metallic foil is transferred to the album cover by an electro-thermal process. No impression is made in the album cover.

1. View Cart at any time to see the products that have been added to your cart.

2. See the Total Price at the bottom of the shopping cart window.

3. Continue Shopping returns to you the ordering interface in the product category you were working on previously.

Layout Tools

The Layout Tools

1. The Image Tool (or Hand Tool) is the default tool, normally selected when the program starts. It will be the tool used most often. With the hand (or image tool) selected, when you move the cursor over an image in the layout window, you see the hand icon and can click-and-drag to reposition the image in the Layout Area.

2. The edit tool will allow you to move, rotate, and resize an image or text node, if editing is allowed. On photographic prints, the main image node is not editable. If you add an image or text node, it can be edited with this tool. Other products may or may not allow you to edit the existing nodes depending on varying product options.

3. The Draw Tool is used to add image nodes to contain images or be filled with color. Not all prints or products allow you to add image nodes.

4. The Draw Text Tool allows you to add add a type node to your print or product. Not all products allow you to add text nodes.

5. Turn the Layout Grid on to aid in designing custom products. The grid shows in the layout area, but will not print.

6. The Montage Tool is a very easy way to add multiple image nodes in a precise pattern of rows and columns.

Workspace

How to Rearrange the ROES Workspace

1. If your computer display is large enough, (we recommend a minimum of 900 pixels tall) you have the option to place the Images panel over to the right. Click the Move panel button. If this button is not visible, you may have to increase the height of the image thumbnails panel to see it.

The sizes of panels can be adjusted by positioning the cursor right at the dividing line between panels, when you’re in the right position, the pointer will change to a double headed arrow. Click and drag to resize the panel.

2. In this screen, the images panel has been moved to the right, and the options panel moves down below the Sizes palette.

3. Special ordering options can be accessed by opening the panel just below the layout window. These options all effect the way the ordering interface acts as each product is ordered, holding options from one product to the next, or holding the crop as it was set, and so on.

4. Favorites is a special category where you can save products you order often. Options you set will be included in the favorite. Choose a product or print size; select the options you want included as your favorite; then click the Add Favorite button; enter a name and hit enter on your keyboard.

5. The packages button (Show Packages and Clusters) allows you to combine print sizes or products into a package. Then you have the choice to make one image fill each of the products in the package, or make one image span across different print sizes.

In other words, with the Packages button on, you could drag various print sizes out to the layout area, then move them around with the move tool. Packages use dynamic cropping. When you zoom in on one image, all the other products will change dyanacically to show the new cropping. As a typical example, you could make a custom package of 4 wallets, two 4x6s, one 5×7, one 8×10, and a keychain. Then, when you drag one image in, it populates all the print sizes at once. This is a more efficient way to order packages of products you repeat often.

Important note: Before you click Add to Order, if you want to save your package to use again, it is important to click the Add to Favorites button, name the package, and hit enter.

The same Show Packages mode works to build your own clusters or wall collages. You can unlock the multiple print sizes so different images can be pulled in to different print sizes. Also, you can use the option Span Image to make one image span across multiple prints.

Books/Albums

Designing and Ordering Books and Albums

From upper left:

1. Show the Available Templates – when this button is clicked the film strip at the top of the interface shows the page templates that are available for use on the pages displayed in the layout window. These can be single page templates or panoramic templates that span both pages. To use a template click on it and drag it to the page where you want it.

2. Book View – this button change the film strip at the top of the interface to show the book. You see the cover and the pages you have created. In this view you can drag and drop pages to change their location in the book.

3. Reset the current page template. Use this button if you have made edits to a page template and want to discard them. This resets the template back to its original form.

4. Remove the currently displayed pages.

5. Add a New Leaf (two pages) before the currently displayed set of pages.

6. Flip Back One Set of Pages.

7. The numbers of the pages currently displayed in the layout window.

8. Flip Forward One Set of Pages.

9. Add a New Leaf (two pages) after the currently displayed set of pages.

10. Reset the Book – this will remove all images from a book or remove both the images and all the page templates. By default a book retains its images and templates after it is ordered. If you want to create more than one book, you will need to use this button to remove the images and/or templates from your first book so you can begin creating the second book.

General Notes: If you decide you don’t like a page template, just drag another template into that page and the new template will replace the old template.

The user interface of the new MeridianPro ROES v8 has definitely changed. The way books and albums are entered into an order is significantly different. Packages are another area that has seen big changes. However, at it’s core it’s pretty much the same little app, so much of the information provided in these video gives tips and tricks that still apply. ROES for Windows 32-bit Systems

ROES — Remote Order Entry System

You appear to be running a 32-bit Windows computer.  You will be able to install and run the Java Web Start version of our software.  If you do not have Java (Free Download) installed on your computer, you must install it before the software will run.

Download the app and begin ordering today.  See detailed install instructions below.

Running ROES for the first time.

  1. If you do not hava Java installed, please download and install it from Oracle’s Java website.  If you are not certain if your computer has it, this is a good opportunity to download and install the latest, most secure version of Java.

  2. Click on the Download ROES button above to begin the installation process.

  3. If your browser asks if you wish to run or save the download, please choose “Run“.

  4. Java will launch.

Troubleshooting

If you are unable to launch the software successfully, we may be able to help.  Please check the common launch problems and their solutions listed below.

  • NullPointerException:  If you have run the program on this computer before and the screen resolution or layout has changed since the last time, this may sometimes occur.  Deleting the Meridian3.properties file from your %userprofile%\.Meridian3 folder may help.  To find that file so that you may delete it, type this path into the address bar of any explorer window:  %userprofile%\.Meridian3

  • Unable to Launch Application:  This is typically caused by security software preventing the launch of Java applications based on Java Web Start technology.  Temporarily disabling your security software or adding an exception for Java, JavaW, and JavaWS may help.  Those files are found in this folder:  %programfiles%\Java\jre7\bin

ROES Client Software Launch (Unsupported)

ROES Client Software Not Supported on Your System

When downloading the ROES software our website attempts to check your operating system family, operating system version, and if your system is 32-bit or 64-bit.  This is done to ensure that the correct version of ROES is presented to you, if possible, and provide any information relevant to your specific platform.

Unfortunately, the website has detected that your system does not appear to meet one or more of the requirements for running ROES.  If you believe this to not be the case or wish to browse all available launchers for other reasons, you may do so by visiting the link below.

ROES System Requirements (Windows)

  • 1.6+ GHz AMD or Intel CPU
  • 2+ GB RAM, 1 GB free
  • Enough disk space for cached assets and orders (variable*)
  • Java 6 or 7 (Not needed if installed using ROES Web Start)
  • Windows XP, Vista, 7, 8, or 8.1

ROES System Recommendations (Windows)

  • 2.4+ GHz AMD or Intel CPU – Dual or Quad Core
  • 4+ GB RAM, 2 GB free
  • Enough disk space for cached assets and orders (variable*)
  • Java 7, 64-bit (Not needed if installed using ROES Web Start)
  • Windows Vista, 7, 8, or 8.1 – 64-bit

ROES System Requirements (OS X)

  • 1.6+ GHz Intel CPU
  • 2+ GB RAM, 1 GB free
  • Enough disk space for cached assets and orders (variable*)
  • Java 6 or 7 (Not needed if installed using ROES Web Start)
  • OS X 10.6+ (10.5 is possible if you have Java 6**)

ROES System Recommendations (OS X)

  • 2.4+ GHz Intel CPU – Dual or Quad Core
  • 4+ GB RAM, 2 GB free
  • Enough disk space for cached assets and orders (variable*)
  • Java 7 (Not needed if installed using ROES Web Start)
  • OS X 10.6+

* The amount of required disk space is variable depending on the assets fetched from the web for the products you choose to view, the orders you place, etc. The program itself only requires about 4 MB of space. Art assets will grow over time and may take tens or hundreds of megabytes as you browse the catalog. These assets are fetched from the web as you view each product and cached for future use, so only the products you choose to view will grow this footprint. The largest consumer of space is the space used by archived orders. Since they contain a copy of the images you’ve included in an order, they can eventually consume anywhere from a few megabytes to gigabytes.

** Any Mac that can run Java 6 or Java 7 can run ROES. Systems that can use ROES Web Start should do so, but RWS is only supported on either OS X 10.7+ or 64-bit Windows systems. Systems that cannot use RWS instead must use Java Web Start which includes support for any system with Java 6 or later installed. On the Mac platform, this normally means OS X 10.6 or later. OS X 10.5 systems with Intel processors technically have the option of installing Java 6 as well, but PowerPC systems do not.
